Ratheesh Ravindran's directorial debut Pixelia has been released on NeeStream. The movie, as its title suggests, is about 'pixels' or the process of 'fragmentation. The movie tells the story of a graphic novelist and a transgender person. Pixelia had its premiere at Kolkata International Film Festival in the Indian Competition section. It was also screened at Queer Asia Film Festival.
The story revolves around Kumar, who has quit his job to become a graphic novelist. He is working as an Uber driver in Kochi while working on a graphic novel titled Pixelia. One day a transgender person named Mandakini gets into his cab and this changes his life forever.
Sanal Aman, who plays Kumar, was recently seen in a pivotal role in the film Maalik directed by Mahesh Narayanan. Gowri Savithri plays the transgender person. The film features Afeeda KT, Vedh Vishnu, Jayaraj Nair, Azad, Aiswarya Nath, Rashmi Jayagopal, Bibinkuttan, Rajaneesh and Lalitha.
The film has been produced by Ranjit Karunakaran and Sharmila Nair under the banner of RK Entertainments & DocArt Productions in association with the Filmocracy Foundation.
