Rajkumar Hirani’s son Vir to make directorial debut with web-series

Rajkumar Hirani’s son, Vir Hirani, who is in his early twenties, is all set to make his directorial debut with a web-series based in Kashmir. The news was shared by the lieutenant governor of the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, yesterday.
While encouraging filmmakers to shoot in the region on the occasion of the launch of a film policy, Sinha tweeted about the upcoming films set in the Union territory. “On this occasion, famous producer Mahaveer Jain announced his next film to be shot in J&K, another web series by [the] talented Vir Hirani (sic),” he tweeted.
In 2013, Vir made his short film debut at the age of 13 with the movie Return Gift, which is based on the story of his grandmother's. The movie was selected for the Little Director’s category at the 18th International Children’s Film Festival of India.
Vir then worked as a cinematographer on a short film directed by Giaa Singh Arora, the daughter of television director’s Deeya and Tony Singh. Following this, Vir made his second short film, The Obituary, in 2016.
In the following year, he assisted his father in making Sanju (2018), which is based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, who was played by Ranbir Kapoor.
