Director Siju Vijayan's debut feature film, Insha, has been released on Neestream. The film, which was released in cinemas on 19 March, revolves around a thirteen-year-old girl named Insha who is confined to a wheelchair. Insha, who lives on an island off Kochi, wants to see the ocean. The film shows how her friends fight all odds to help fulfil her dream.
With a dozen short films under his belt, this debut feature is a deeply personal story for the filmmaker. Like the protagonist, he has been suffering from spinal muscular atrophy for the past six years and travels with the help of an electric wheelchair.
The film stars Prathana Sandeep and features Aditya Rajesh, Ananthu Narayanan, Mebin Issac, Anil Perumbalam, Arya Salim, Manaksha CP, Rajeswary Sasikumar and Suresh Nellikode.
Insha has been produced by Vijayan and Aghosh Babu under the Ayushmithra Cinemas banner.
