Addinath Mahesh Kothare made his digital debut last month with the second season of Nagesh Kukunoor's political drama web-series City Of Dreams.

Kothare plays Mahesh Aravle, an idealist youth leader turned aspiring leftist politician who poses a threat to interim chief minister Poornima Gaikwad (Priya Bapat). The makers had kept his character a secret, not revealing it even in the trailer.

Speaking about his role, Kothare said, "We kept Mahesh Aravle's character a secret, and I'm glad that the audience has liked this secret. I'm getting congratulatory calls and messages. It is also being appreciated on social media. I am so thankful for this love from the audience. This love from the audience gives a kind of energy and a desire to do even better."

Season 2 of City Of Dreams revolves around Poornima Gaikwad's struggle to stay in power as her father Ameyarao Gaikwad (Atul Kulkarni) vows to destroy her.

Kothare will be seen next in Kabir Khan's long-pending sports drama 83 where he will be essaying the role of former India Test star Dilip Vengsarkar.

Kothare is also awaiting the release of his directorial debut Paani, which also sees him playing the lead. He will also be seen playing the lead in Madhuri Dixit's next Marathi film as a producer titled Panchak.
