The teaser of Birsa Dasgupta’s upcoming film Mukhosh was packed with spine-chilling visuals. The trailer introduces the thriller's themes, which include religion.

Starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Chandreyee Ghosh, Anirban Chakrabarti and Kaushik Sen, Mukhosh is a remake of the Malayalam film Anjaam Pathiraa (2020).

The trailer begins with Bhattacharya, who plays a criminologist, reciting a biblical verse, which is linked to murders committed by a psychologically sick criminal. As Bhattacharya about figuring the clues left behind by the serial killer at crime scenes, the latter continues to reveal his perspective on death using symbols of biblical significance.

The criminologist as well as his colleagues (Chakrabarti and Ghosh) are baffled by their adversary. Several characters join the manhunt. Meanwhile, the mysterious and eerie look of the character played by Sen generates intrigue. The trailer cleverly avoids revealing much about him.

The still grey visuals and haunting background score add to the suspense quotient of the trailer and the performances seem to be quite promising too.

Mukhosh is slated to be released in theatres on 13 August.
