The second season of the critically acclaimed series Kota Factory will be premiered on Netflix on 24 September. The first season of the show, created and produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), was released on YouTube in April 2019.
Chronicling the gruelling, stressful lives of students studying to crack the daunting Indian Institute of Technology entrance exam and get into the best educational institutions, the first season of Kota Factory introduced viewers to Vaibhav (Mayur More), Uday (Alam Khan), Shivangi (Ahsaas Channa) and Jeetu Bhaiyya, played by Jitendra Kumar.
Vaibhav and company return for a second year with change looming on the horizon, whether it is questioning their life choices and losing Jeetu Bhaiyya as their teacher, as the teaser reveals. The new season will follow Vaibhav “on his journey to Maheshwari — one of Kota’s leading training institutes, and how he tries to balance his friendships, his relationship with his mentor and the looming pressure of getting into IIT”.
Speaking about the upcoming season, director Raghav Subbu said he was excited that the show would continue its journey on Netflix. He said, “I try to create stories that inspire and enthral audiences throughout. Season 2 of Kota Factory will chronicle the journey of students at Kota and the struggles they face on a daily basis, which will make it more engaging and realistic. The compelling story and spectacular performances will keep the audience intrigued.”
Tanya Bami, director of international originals at Netflix India, said, “Just like the previous season, this season too is rich with authenticity and relatability of college life, the choices and struggles of the youth not just in Kota, but everywhere in the country.”
The first season, which also stars Ranjan Raj, Revathi Pillai and Urvi Sing, has been streaming on Netflix since 27 August.
