The release date of the Punjabi feature Maa has been announced. The film was earlier slated to be released in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. Set to be a soulful story about the sacrifices made by parents for their children, Maa will be out on Mother’s Day, 6 May 2022.
Actress Divya Dutta shared the news on Twitter on Sunday, saying, “Announcing a very special film with a title precious to all of us! And with me in a spectacular role of a lifetime.”

Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal had earlier announced that the film would be produced by his production house, Humble Motion Pictures. The film stars Grewal, Aarushi Sharma and Dutta. Singer and actor Babbal Rai will also be a part of the cast.
Directed by Baljit Singh Deo, the film is written by actor Rana Ranbir, who has acted in several hit films including Jatt & Juliet (2012), Carry on Jatta (2012), Jatt & Juliet 2 (2013), Punjab 1984 (2014) and Manje Bistre (2017).
