After exploring the stories of author Jhaverchand Meghani in the first season, OHO Gujarati's Sambhlo Chho? returns for a second season. This time, the series turns its attention to the children’s stories of Gijubhai Badheka.
The five-episode series, which began streaming on 30 July, has been directed by Gaurang Kabira and produced by Tatsat Munshi. Young storytellers will bring alive tales by Gujarati writer and educator Badheka who brought the Montessori system to India.
Badheka, a teacher and storyteller by heart, decided to devote his life to raising the standard of children's education and literature in the country after the birth of his son. Nicknamed ‘Muchali Maa’ by Mahatma Gandhi, the educationist is known for his translated stories like Rakhdu Toli, Mahatmao Na Chitro and Isap Katha.
The second season will familiarize viewers with Badheka's life through five of his stories — Supadkanno Raja, Juka Pet Futya, Ma! Mane Chham Vadu, Saat Puchadiyo Undar and Dikri Ne Ghar Java De — narrated by talented young performers Bhavya Sirohi, Vishal Thakkar, Rishi Panchal, Tirth Shah, Trisha Shah and Vrisha Joshi.
OHO Gujarati co-founder Abhishek Jain said, “It gives us immense pleasure to witness the love and appreciation we receive from our audience across the globe. The purpose of OHO Gujarati is to bring to life unique stories and folklores that celebrate the culture of Gujarat. And showcasing the wonderful stories written by acclaimed writers like Gijubhai Badheka is a step towards fulfilment of our purpose.
"We hope, just like Sambhlo Chho? (Season 1) was well received and appreciated, the same love and appreciation will be received by this series featuring some outstanding performances by children.”
