Karan Deol’s upcoming film Velley was announced last month. It is now learnt that the film will see him teaming up with his uncle Abhay Deol, according to the news agency Indo-Asian News Service (IANS).
The film is being produced by Ajay Devgn and directed by Deven Munjal.
Karan said on Instagram, “Dimpy chacha [Abhay Deol], thank you for always having my back! You’ve always been an inspiration for me and working with you is something I'll always cherish. Love You. Super excited for everyone to see what we've been shooting for (sic)”
This is the first time that Abhay has teamed up with anyone from the Deol family in a movie. Karan, who debuted in Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (2019), has already bagged the sequel to Anil Sharma’s Apne (2007) where he will be sharing the screen with his father Sunny Deol, uncle Bobby Deol and grandfather Dharmendra.
Velley is a crime comedy about three friends. The film sees Munjal making his directorial debut.
Before the start of the shoot, Karan had said in a statement, “The lockdown was tough on all of us, but it’s important to slowly, safely restart. I am excited and looking forward to getting back to shoot life. Working on something really different this time with a young enthusiastic team. Can’t wait to share details soon.”
