European Union Film Festival issues call for scriptwriter development and training


The 26th European Union Film Festival India announces a call for professional screenwriters from India

The 26th European Union Film Festival India has announced a call for professional screenwriters from India. Titled 'A Journey to Europe', the workshop is for writers between the ages of 18 to 35 who are interested in receiving training aimed at developing their scripts for feature-length fiction films.

A cultural exchange project promoted by the delegation of the European Union to India in the context of the festival, A Journey to Europe will select 30 participants to undergo free intensive sessions to develop their scripts. The aim is to select, support and enhance young talent from India and increase the cultural dialogue between the European Union and India through training activities for the development of high-quality scripts.

Two selected candidates from the group will receive further support for a period of eight months and a chance to travel to a European film festival to present their work to industry professionals. The condition for selection is that the applicants should have realized at least one short or long feature film or documentary.

The 26th edition of the European Union Film Festival India is scheduled to be held from 1–30 November 2021. The deadline for applications to participate in the writers workshop is 30 September.

The European Union Film Festival is also one of the partners of the Dharamshala International Film Festival.
