The Hoichoi series Boyfriends & Girlfriends, which has been directed by Suvankar Paul and written by Mainak Bhaumik, will be streamed from 3 September.
The show is centred on three childhood friends Ujaan (Riddhi Sen), Bunty (Ujan Chatterjee) and Soumya (Rwitobroto Mukherjee), who go through numerous ups and downs while following their dreams.
Ujaan, who comes from an affluent family, quits his job to pursue his dream of becoming a singer and songwriter. He eventually comes to share a room with Amrita (Ishaa Saha), who doesn't reveal much about her past.
Soumya, on the other hand, must choose between dating Sreya (Adrija Roy), his father's business partner's daughter, and Ujaan's ex-girlfriend Riya (Madhurima Ghosh). Meanwhile, Bunty, a closeted homosexual, attempts to discover the true identity of the guy he has taken fancy to while chatting on a dating app.
According to Sen, the series focuses on the time when the search for jobs and other events take place after college life gets over. "How the friendship of the three childhood friends progresses over time, enduring several crises, will be revealed in the series.” he said.
