Abhishek Chowdhury's satirical film Tikiland goes on floors

The futuristic movie, which deals with the influence of social media, stars Devtanu, Suvosmita Mukherjee and Rii Sen.

Director Abhishek Chowdhury's upcoming film, Tikikand, which stars Rii Sen, Devtanu and Suvosmita Mukherjee, has gone on the floors.

The futuristic satire is set in a society that is deeply influenced by social media. Presented by Akangsha Manglani, Tikiland is being produced by Kefi Media and Entertainment.

The story of Tikiland revolves around a virus called FOMO, which embeds the fear of missing out in peoples' minds. “Tikiland is a futuristic fantasy satire which speaks about the positive and negative impacts of social media in our futuristic society,” said the director.

The story will be narrated from the perspective of Saptak, a theatre artiste, played by Devtanu, who is constantly in conflict with the Tikistars who consider themselves fine artists. “Saptak is a theatre artiste and dwells in a world where social media influence has totally taken over art and aesthetics. I am quite emotional about the film, as my struggle of two long years is going to end with this dream project,” said Devtanu.

Mukherjee, who appeared in a music video titled Moner Manush with Devtanu, is happy to make her comeback with the film. “After the grand success of Moner Manush, Devtanu and I are again coming back with Tikiland. I am playing the role of Aditi in the film. This film is very unique, I am quite excited to be a part of this film. I hope people will like the web film very much," she said.

Tikiland is the first Bengali project of Kefi Media and Entertainment. Excited to be part of the project, Manglani said, “The web film is going to represent a totally unseen futuristic world. Though it seems quite easy, it is actually very difficult to portray the futuristic world through lenses” However, Manglani has deep faith in their efficient production team, and she strongly believes that the end product will be fabulous and a treat to watch.
