Written and directed by Deepak Sundarajan, the horror-comedy also stars Yogi Babu, Radikaa Sarathkumar and Rajendra Prasad. The film was completed last year in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The Tamil feature will be the second horror-comedy to be released on the streaming platform on the same day. The Hindi horror-comedy Bhoot Police, starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam Dhar, is also premiering the same day on Disney+ Hotstar.
Annabelle Sethupathi marks Pannu’s return to Tamil cinema after Game Over (2019). Her last film, Haseen Dillruba (2021), was premiered on Netflix last month. Other films of hers like Rashmi Rocket and Looop Lapeta are expected to be out this year as well.
The always-busy Vijay has already had three releases this year — the Tamil films Master and Kutty Story and the Telugu film Uppena. His upcoming film Laabam (2021), with co-star Shruti Haasan, is due to be released in theatres on 9 September. Meanwhile, another Tamil film Tughlaq Durbar is expected to be premiered on Sun TV and Netflix, but the date of release has yet to be confirmed.
He is also filming for the Tamil films Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Vikram, and Maamanithan and is expected to make his Hindi debut with Mumbaikar later this year.
