Go behind the scenes in the glamorous but stressful world of talent agents in the Hindi film industry with Netflix’s newest series Call My Agent: Bollywood. Starring Rajat Kapoor, Aahana Kumra, Soni Razdan and Ayush Mehra, the Indian series is the official adaptation of the popular French series Dix Pour Cent (Ten Percent), also known as Call My Agent!

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Banijay Asia, Call My Agent: Bollywood sees Kapoor, Kumra, Razdan and Mehra play four street-smart talent agents who rally together to save their agency from closure after the untimely death of their founder. The series will see a slew of real-life Hindi film personalities making a cameo on the show as reel life will merge with fiction.

The quirky yet heartwarming series has been written by Abbas and Hussein Dalal while Shaad Ali is the director. The first look released by Netflix is a stylish video of the cast, dressed to the nines in sunglasses, as they strut their stuff while taking over the talent agency.

The video also introduces the characters: Kapoor plays Monty Behl, Kumra is Amal Ahmed, Soni Razdan is Treasa Matthews and Mehra is Mehershad Sodawala.

Speaking about the new adaptation, Sameer Nair, Applause Entertainment’s CEO, said, “At Applause, it has been our endeavour to curate and create the best stories from across the world. Call My Agent: Bollywood is a show that has been delightfully reimagined to showcase the colourful world of Bollywood [Hindi cinema] through humour and heartwarming emotions. We are ecstatic to collaborate with Netflix to bring Call My Agent to Indian and global audiences.”

Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s vice-president, added, “We are excited to partner with Applause Entertainment to bring an Indian adaptation of Dix Pour Cent, a French comedy-drama series that has a huge following on Netflix. Call My Agent: Bollywood is an Indian twist with a heady mix of quirky writing and a marvellous cast making it a delightful watch.”

Four seasons of the French series are being streamed on Netflix while a television movie and a fifth season are in the works. A Turkish version was released last year while British and South Korean remakes are in production.
