The poster of Mandip Saha’s debut film Iskabon was launched in the presence of the cast and crew at a restaurant in Kolkata yesterday. Starring Sanju, Sourav Das, Anamika Chakraborty, Arindam Gangopadhyay and Kharaj Mukherjee, the political drama is centred on Maoist activities in West Bengal.
The poster, designed by Ekta Creative Tales, creatively illustrates the theme of the film. It features characters cloaked in the darkness of a forest whose trees are erect rifles.
The imagery indicates how a once-peaceful and calm forest has been turned into a battlefield whose greenery camouflages extremists who are on the run from the law.
Das’s character, a political leader named Narenji, can be spotted on the poster as well as newcomer Sanju and Chakraborty as Lt Colonel Shib Mukherjee and his love interest Golapi respectively.
Iskabon is set in Golbibi Bajar, an area in the infamous Jangal Mahal region, where Narenji forms a political party to fight for the rights of the local people.
