Jugal Hansraj has finished shooting for Shiv Shastri Balboa starring Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. The project sees the actor reunite with Kher for the sixth time.
The actor has shared a short video of Kher and himself as they wrapped up work on the set. The actors have worked together in Karma (1986), Papa Kahte Hain (1996), Gudgudee (1997) and Mohabbatein (2000) while Hansraj directed Kher in Pyaar Impossible (2010) starring Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra.
Hansraj joined the sets of Shiv Shastri Balboa last month. The actor hasn’t revealed what kind of role he is playing in the film.
Directed by Ajayan Venugopalan, the film sees Kher and Gupta play an older Indian couple who take a road trip through middle America and discover that it’s not too late to reinvent themselves.
Sharib Hashmi is also part of the film, which is being filmed in the state of New Jersey.
Hansraj is returning to acting after five years. He was last seen in Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh (2016) with Vidya Balan. In 2014, he had joined Dharma Production on their creative team but has since relocated to New York.
He made his acting debut as a child with Shekhar Kapur’s Masoom (1983) starring Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi. Hansraj made his directorial debut with the Indian animated feature Roadside Romeo (2008) which featured the voices of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
