Helmet song ‘Band Baj Gaya’: Tony Kakkar, Vibhor Parashar cook up ordinary wedding song

In the first song from the upcoming feature Helmet (2021), the leads Aparshakti Khurana and Pranutan Bahl, make merry on the dance stage at a wedding, before the festivities are halted by someone who seems to be Khurana’s father.

The Tony Kakkar track, unfortunately, is both uninventive and repetitive. The singer-composer is joined by Vibhor Parashar on vocals on this wedding number, which feels quite ordinary. The beat and the lyrics go on in a ceaseless loop, and that does it no favours.

Kakkar, despite doing triple duty as singer, composer and lyricist, has cooked up a less-than-memorable tune for the feature. The double entendres are cringe-worthy as well.

Khurana and Bahl display enthusiasm amid the party setup of ‘Band Baj Gaya’. Khurana’s character even dons band uniform as the song begins, but the vocals don’t suit the actor and his energy is the only highlight in the dull song.

Helmet, directed by Satram Ramani, is due to be released on Zee5 on 3 September.
