Actress Monalisa Bagal has been roped in to play the female lead in director Anup Jagdale's historical film Ravrambha. The film is a romantic drama set in 17th century Maharashtra.
The makers haven't revealed the names of other cast members. The film has been written by Pratap Gangavane.
Ravrambha was supposed to go on the floors in April but because of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the makers had to postpone the shoot. The new date for the commencement of filming will be announced soon.
This is Bagal's first historical film and fourth project with Jagdale after Zhalla Bobhata (2017), Bhirkit (2021) and Karant (2021). The latter two are yet to be released.
A few months ago, the makers of Ravrambha had released the first poster of the film which featured a silhouette of the Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, confirming that the film is set in the time of the early Maratha empire.
The film is being produced under the banner of Shashikant Pawar Productions.
