Viewers have more will-they-won’t-they romance in store for them as the second season of Mismatched has gone on the floors in Rajasthan. Directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by RSVP Movies, the series features Prajakta Koli as Dimple, a coder who wants to make her own app. Rohit Saraf plays Rishi, a romantic who paired up with Dimple through their parents.

In the last season, Dimple and Rishi, who collaborate on her app, tentatively start dating only to break up after both starts to believe that the other has betrayed them. The finale ended on a cliffhanger.

The new season, written by Ghazal Dhaliwal, Aarsh Vora, Nandini Gupta, Akshay Jhunjhunwala and Sunayana Kumari, will bring the whole gang back together again.

The synopsis reads, "Fate brings this “Mismatched” couple face to face again, as Rishi is forced to step back into the mess he left behind. With their futures at stake, Dimple and Rishi must navigate the rough terrains of frayed friendships, new love interests, broken promises, academic stress and shocking rivalries."

A new video released by Netflix shows the core gang back at their ways in a swanky Rajasthani hotel. Koli and Saraf are joined by Devyani Shorey as Namrata, Muskkaan Jaferi as Celina, Taaruk Raina as Anmol and Vihaan Samat as Harsh.

Speaking about the story and the start of the new season, Khurana shared, "One thing that always drew me to Mismatched was the juxtaposition of old and new. Whether it was an app development course in vintage locations, or an old schoolboy falling for a new age girl. Season 2 begins, with new experiences ahead of us, in the good old setting of Rajasthan. And the returning cast with the new entrants. Propelled by the love that the first season got, we're back with even more fun, romance, friendship, and complications (sic)."

The second season will also mark the return of the teacher Siddharth Sinhar, played by Rannvijay Singha, and student Zeenat Karim, played by Vidya Malavade.
