Actor Dino Morea has revealed the appearance of his new character from Nikkhil Advani's upcoming historical fantasy series The Empire. The show, created by Advani and directed by Mitakshara Kumar, will trace the rise of the Moghul empire in India. Featuring Kunal Kapoor, Drashti Dhami, Shabana Azmi, it will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar this year.
The actor shared a snapshot video revealing the look of his character.
Clad in furs, the actor's looks every inch a scheming warrior from the desolate steppes. If his curved sword and the wild unkempt appearance wasn't intimidating enough, the video ends with him bringing down the sword on someone.
Advani's The Empire is reportedly based on Alex Rutherford's fictional novel series Empire Of The Moghuls. Kunal Kapoor will play the role of Babur, the founder of the Moghul empire in India. While it is not known who Morea is playing, it is likely that he is essaying the role of Shaybani Khan. Based on the Mongol-Uzbek ruler, Muhammad Shaybani, he is a descendant of Genghis Khan and a rival of Babur. He was married to Babur's sister, Khanzada Begum, but was a fierce rival of Babur.
The Empire is being backed by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani of Emmay Entertainment.
