Actor Faissal Khan is set to make his debut as a director with Faactory (2021). Khan began work on the film back in 2019. The film is now slated for release in theatres on 3 September.

Having assisting cousin Mansoor Khan and his late father and producer-director Tahir Husain on Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), Tum Mere Ho (1990) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Faissal Khan is quite confident about this film.

“I am glad to take this decision after 30 years and will finally live my mother’s and my dream," he said. "I have been involved with Faactory from the scripting stage and it has been one amazing journey.”

Back in 2019, Khan had said, "Direction was always on my mind, but this happened organically. We had another director [Sharique Minhaj] on board, but due to date issues, he couldn't continue. That's when I decided to step in.

"What is interesting is that my brother [actor-producer Aamir Khan] and mother [Zeenat Husain] are aware of the film, but they don't know I have turned director," he added. "I wanted to surprise them after finishing one schedule. I am waiting to see their reaction."

The poster for the film suggests Faactory will be a thriller. The film also features debutant Roaley Ryan. Raj Kumar Kanojia, Ribbhu Mehra, Sharad Singh and Asha Singh are some of the other members of the cast.

Directed by Faissal Khan, Faactory will be released by M&S Films Production in association with Entertainment Films LLP, Flamingo Films and Gauri Films.
