First-time director Satram Ramani’s Helmet is a quirkily titled film. The term is often used by those who feel shy to ask for a condom or talk about it. The film stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pranutan Bahl, Dino Morea and Abhishek Banerjee.
Khurana, who plays the lead in the film, has shared the first picture with his teammates on Instagram. He captioned it, “Kripaya apne helmet pehen lijiye kyunki hum jald hi aa rahe hai [Please wear your helmets as we are arriving soon] to take you on a ride. All safety precautions will be taken.”
The picture sees Khurana posing with Morea, Banerjee, Bahl, Ramani, writer Rohan Shankar and Vivek Krishnani, managing director of producer Sony Pictures.
A statement from the makers said, “Aparshakti Khurana’s quirky comedy from the heartland of India touches upon a topic that is considered embarrassing for most people in India. However, it will showcase the same in a hilariously entertaining manner.”
Khurana is known for playing popular supporting parts in well-known films like Dangal (2016), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Stree (2018), Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) and Luka Chuppi (2019). Helmet is the first time he is playing the leading man.
Before this film, Ramani was an assistant director on Jism 2 (2012) and chief assistant director on Jai Ho (2014).
