The trailer for the Jackie Shroff- and Anjum Nayar-starrer The Interview: Night Of 26/11, the Hindi remake of the Dutch movie Interview (2003), has been released.
The title leads one to believe the film is set against the backdrop of the infamous 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai. But the trailer does not reveal anything remotely related to the strike.
This project has actually been in the making for quite some time. It was titled Cover Story: The Ultimate Interview back in 2012.
The movie tells the story of a war correspondent (Shroff) who changes his beat to entertainment journalism. A magazine editor offers him a large sum of money if he can get an interview with a particular actress (Nayar). The reporter gets an appointment with the artiste and they eventually meet for the interview. But then they start playing mind games and things get serious.
The trailer is haphazardly cut and presented. The overuse of special effects and flashes fails to leave the desired result, especially at the end. Initially, we are shown Shroff’s character being beaten up and about to get shot. But this has no relevance to the rest of the footage.
The confusing trailer also makes you wonder why a big star would try to seduce a journalist she doesn’t even know.
This is Nayar’s second movie after Mallika (2010). She gets the seductive bits right, but Shroff appears awkward.
Directed by Laurens C Postma, the film has been produced by Glorious Entertainment and Fourth Wall Entertainment. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are keen on watching this film.
