Shoot of Shieladitya Moulik's Radio wrapped up

Shieladitya Moulik has finished shooting his upcoming film Radio.

The film depicts how a solitary young woman, played by Priyanka Sarkar, forms a connection with a radio.

Ishaan Mazumdar, Anindya Chatterjee, Sumana Das, Momo and Moumita Bose will also be seen in crucial roles in the film.

In the film, Sarkar plays an advertising copywriter, Hiya, who is getting over a break-up and is suffering from heartbreak. After a new neighbour moves into her building, Hiya is initially disturbed by their tendency to keep their radio on constantly, but eventually, she finds a companion in the device.

"It's been a wonderful experience to work with the team, especially with cinematographer Souvik Basu," said Sarkar.

The actress said that Shieladitya’s script was extremely well-written and that she had a ball working with him. "He knows exactly what he wants, and I had a smooth working experience as he communicated and guided us with clarity,” she added.

For Sarkar, playing Hiya was challenging. “I am now waiting to see the end product after post-production. I am hoping for this film to turn out as an important work in my career,” said Sarkar.

Moulik got quite emotional on the last day of shooting. "I didn’t expect the filming process to turn out so well. This is a very emotional story, which also brings back the nostalgia of our childhood," said the director.

Moulik believes that the entire cast and crew enjoyed the shooting process and, hence, have done a great job. "I don’t know whether I am in a position to comment on Priyanka’s performance. We already know that she is a fantastic actress but this character has unfolded a different aspect of her acting prowess," said the filmmaker.

According to the director, Radio is a musical and features 12 diverse songs composed by Soumya Rit. "I am quite confident that one song from the film will be super-hit," said the helmer, who is hopeful that the film will be released in theatres.
