After starring in web-series such as The Heartbreak Hotel, Never Kiss Your Best Friend and Marzi, Vivek Mushran will now be seen in the upcoming Netflix show Mai.
Talking about the series, he said, “I have completed that project for Netflix just some days back. I think it will be released at the end of this year or early next year. Its post-production is currently going on.”
Mai also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Prashant Narayanan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Seema Pahwa. The show is a dark crime saga about a middle-aged woman (Tanwar) who accidentally kills a mafia leader. She is then unwittingly swept into the underworld where she slowly starts spreading her influence.
Atul Mongia is the creator of the show and it’s being backed by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma’s banner Clean Slate Films.
Mushran also has another web-series in the pipeline but he says that he can’t speak anything about it right now.
The actor, who made his debut in Subhash Ghai’s Saudagar (1991), has done a lot of TV in the last decade. Mushran believes that the OTT wave has come as a blessing for all kinds of performers in recent times.
“There is a lot of work happening these days. Actors are getting to play a variety of roles. The industry is much different now than what it was before, for the better,” he said.
