Malayalam actress Saranya Sasi dies of cancer at 35

She had undergone 11 surgeries after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2012.

Actress Saranya Sasi, who had been battling a brain tumour for the past decade, died at a private hospital in Trivandrum on Monday. She had been hospitalized due to COVID-19 a couple of weeks ago but eventually recovered and got discharged. 

According to a leading English newspaper, she was rushed to the hospital due to low sodium levels and pneumonia. 

As per the report, she had undergone 11 surgeries after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2012, which took a toll financially.

Saranya was a familiar face on television and some of the shows in which she appeared include Manthrakodi, Seetha and Harichandanam. 

In movies, she played supporting roles in films such as Chacko Randaman (2006), Chotta Mumbai (2007) and Thalappavu (2008).
