Farhan Akhtar brings Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt together for Jee Le Zaraa

On the 20th anniversary of his debut film Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Farhan Akhtar announced his next directorial venture, Jee Le Zaraa. The film stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. This is the first time that the three popular actresses will be working alongside each other. The film will go on the floors in 2022. 

Like Dil Chahta Hai, this movie is centred on three friends; the only difference being that this time it’s an all-female cast. With this film, Akhtar will be donning the director's hat after more than 10 years. His last film as a helmer was Don 2 (2011), the sequel to the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don (2006). 

The actor-filmmaker announced the upcoming project and shared its motion title poster on social media on Tuesday. He captioned it, “Did someone say road trip? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Will commence filming in 2022 and I cannot wait to get this show on the road.” 

The pleasant music in the background indicates the fun and light-hearted nature of the film. 

The title Jee Le Zaraa is based on the song from Akhtar’s production house Excel Entertainment’s Talaash (2012), starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukerji.
