RRR 'Dosti' song: Makers release special music video on Friendship Day

The first song from the highly anticipated SS Rajamouli film RRR was unveiled today. The friendship-themed song was released to coincide with Friendship Day. The song was released in all the five languages in which the film will also be released.

While the song is titled 'Dosti' in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, it is titled 'Natpu' in Tamil and 'Priyam' in Malayalam.

Featuring musicians and singers across industries, the song, composed by MM Kreem, is a tribute to friendship and features Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film's lead stars. While the Telugu, Hindi and Kannada versions have been sung, respectively, by Hemachandra, Amit Trivedi and Yazin Nizar, the Tamil version has been rendered by Anirudh Ravichander and the Malayalam one by Vijay Yesudas.

RRR, which is being made on a massive scale, was supposed to be released in October this year. However, given the current pandemic situation in the country, the movie is likely to be postponed once again. Reliable sources have revealed that the film is most likely to hit theatres for the Sankranti festival next year.

The film is a fictional story set in the 1920s in pre-independence India but it is based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries — Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

“There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about," filmmaker Rajamouli had said at the launch of the project back in 2019. "We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. Through this fictional story we would like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they had met and bonded.”

The film, which will be dubbed and released in Hindi, also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani and Shriya Saran.
