The actress is currently in London, England filming for her Amazon Prime series Citadel alongside actor Richard Madden. Her co-star Adarsh Gourav from The White Tiger (2021) is nominated for the Leading Actor Award alongside Riz Ahmed and the late Chadwick Boseman.
This year’s ceremony is split into two shows that will be held on Saturday and Sunday and will be broadcast virtually from the Royal Albert Hall in London. No audience will be present in the hall for both events, and the nominees will accept their awards virtually.
The first part, which will be aired on Saturday, will be hosted by Clara Amfo and will honour the technical crafts of filmmaking. The second part, on Sunday, will be hosted by Dermot O'Leary and Edith Bowman and focus on the more mainstream acting awards.
Chopra Jonas joins a slew of A-list stars, including Hugh Grant, Tom Hiddleston and James McAvoy, who will be presenting at the awards ceremony. Other presenters such as Andra Day, Anna Kendrick and Renée Zellweger will be brought in virtually from Los Angeles, California.
This is the first time the BAFTA 2021 Film Awards are being held live virtually and being split up due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. The ceremony will also have a royal presence as Prince William is reportedly making an appearance at the event on both days.
