Sheetal Ahirrao, Vrushabh Shah to star in Mangalashtak Returns

Sheetal Ahirrao and Vrushabh Shah have been cast opposite each other in the upcoming Marathi movie Mangalashtak Returns. Directed by newcomer Yogesh Bhosale, the film also stars Prasad Oak, Anand Ingle, Prasanna Ketkar, Kamlesh Sawant and Bhakti Chavan. 

Mangalashtak Returns, which is themed on divorce, marks Shah’s debut while Ahirrao was last seen in H2O (2019). 

The makers carried out an unusual activity to create buzz for the film last month — they circulated pictures of an event where a couple’s divorce was celebrated. This got some people talking while a few others were offended. It was later learnt that it was a ploy to publicize the film. 

As per a note shared by the makers, the film went on the floors last month and shooting has been completed. The makers have said that they adhered to all COVID-19 protocols during the shoot. 

They are hoping to release it once theatres resume operations in the state.

Swwapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve starred in the film Mangalashtak Once More (2013) a few years ago. Mangalashtak Returns, however, is neither a sequel nor connected with the 2013 film in any way.
