Neena Gupta has come on board Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye. The veteran actress joins the cast of Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna in the film, which is being produced by Reliance Entertainment and Ekta and Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

The news was revealed by Reliance Entertainment on Twitter on Tuesday. They shared a picture of Gupta and wrote, “Get ready for some entertainment as Neena Gupta joins the cast of Goodbye. Happy to have her on board!”

Veteran journalist Ramesh Bala tweeted that Gupta would be playing Bachchan’s wife in the film. This is the first time that the two artistes have been cast opposite each other.

Interestingly, after the release of Gupta’s successful comeback Badhaai Ho (2018), she had said in an interview with India.com, “I am not Amitabh Bachchan. People noticed me after Badhaai Ho. I think right now I am known as a good character actor. I have not got that kind of fame. There are very few roles for women. I can’t be the heroine. Men [of my age] can still do main leads. Women can’t.”

Yesterday, Mandanna celebrated her birthday on the sets of the film. She posted pictures with Bachchan and Bahl on Instagram.
