Actor Nivin Pauly has announced his next film titled Thaaram. The actor shared the first-look poster from the film on social media.
Thaaram will be directed by filmmaker Vinay Govind, who is known for the quirky stoner comedy Kili Poyi (2013) and the heist drama Kohinoor (2015). Thaaram marks his maiden collaboration with Pauly.
The film will see Pauly playing a movie star, but the story will not revolve around the movie industry. Instead, it will be a family drama with a lot of comedy.
Speaking to the magazine Silverscreen India, director Vinay revealed that Thaaram is kind of a film that is full of comedy, fun and happiness. "It is a family drama. We don’t want to mention scary or sad things, so corona will not be mentioned. We are seeing a happy, post-corona space,” he said.
Vinay also revealed that the film will go on the floor later this year. Thaaram is also the first solo project of screenwriter Vivek Ranjit who has worked on subtitles for 160 Malayalam films. The film’s technical crew consists of Pradeesh M Varma as the cinematographer, Rahul Raj as the music composer and Arju Benn on the edit. The lyrics will be written by Manu Manjith and Harinarayanan BK.
The makers are yet to decide on the rest of the cast and they hope to announce the female lead by the end of this month. Aside from Thaaram, Pauly has Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval's Kanakam Kamini Kalaham (2021) and Abrid Shine's Mahaveeryar (2021) coming up.
