Radhe song 'Dil De Diya': Himesh Reshammiya delivers a foot-tapping and catchy number

Read in: Hindi

The tune, which has all the elements that appeal to Salman Khan's target demographic, has been sung by Kamaal Khan and Payal Dev.

Shriram Iyengar

It's been a while since Himesh Reshammiya has donned the hat of a composer, but, as usual, he has delivered his best for Salman Khan. The composer's latest work, 'Dil De Diya', has all the elements that appeal to the actor's target demographic. Fast and rhythmic, the song scores high on tempo.

While the visuals of the song are a bit confusing, there is no sense in experiencing it through the prism of logic. The song features Jacqueline Fernandez as a club dancer, whose performance is interrupted by the over-enthusiastic frequenter of the den that is Salman Khan. The backgrounds, production design and all-around perfectly typify the escapist cinema that is a Salman Khan film.

Reshammiya's composition suits this universe. It begins with a slow melody that transitions as the tempo picks up. The staccato beats and percussion transform the song completely. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are simple and have you singing along. Payal Dev and Kamaal Khan energize the tune with their timbre.

The song is a typical Salman Khan film number. It does not any moving lyrics, lofty metaphors or abstract visuals. It is simple, high-tempo and catchy.

Apart from Khan, Radhe also stars Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda and is set to be released simultaneously in theatres and on Zee Plex on 13 May.
