Satyameva Jayate 2 postponed, won’t clash with Salman Khan’s Radhe after all

The decision is not surprising given that various states in the country are shutting down theatres. Some states have also implemented lockdowns while others are moving in that direction.

The release of the John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 (2021) has been postponed on account of the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The film, directed by Milap Zaveri, was slated to be released on Eid on 13 May, the date that was chosen for the release of the Salman Khan-starrer Radhe (2021). A fresh date will be set for the release of Satyameva Jayate 2 later.

A statement from the team of Satyameva Jayate 2 said, 'In these unprecedented times, nothing matters more than the safety and health of our countrymen and patrons. Our film Satyameva Jayate 2 will now be released on a later date. Till then let’s keep our masks on and do our best to keep our loved ones and ourselves out of harm’s way. Jai Hind.'

The film is a follow-up to John's Satyameva Jayate (2018). But this time, the actor will be seen in a triple role. Actress-turned-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar, wife of T-Series boss Bhushan Kumar, is also making her comeback to the screen with this movie. She had made her acting debut in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004).

With various states in the country shutting down theatres and some states already in lockdown while others are moving in that direction, the postponement of Satyameva Jayate 2's release is not surprising.

The team of Radhe, however, is going ahead with its scheduled release on Eid. The film will be released in theatres (those that continue to function on the day) and on the pay-per-view OTT platform Zee Plex. It will also be released on the Zee5 OTT platform and on some DTH (direct-to-home) television platforms.
