Abhijeet Maruti Pawar’s English short film The Notion Of Eyes has won quite a few awards at international festivals, including Best Director and Best Short Film at the Port Blair International Film Festival and Outstanding Achievement at the World Film Carnival Singapore this year.
Speaking about the film, Pawar said, “I got the idea for this short film from my friend Rohit from Bengaluru. I was highly impressed with the script and while reading I kept visualizing the film. I was told by a lot of people that it would be very difficult to make a short film on this subject. But I dared to make this film because of my self-confidence.”
Produced by Screen Story 24 Productions, The Notion Of Eyes stars Devesh Sharma, Manasi Patil, Dhara Chandorkar, Bhavana Kasu and Sameer Shaikh and tells the story of a passionate photographer.
About the experience of making the film, Pawar said, “We shot it during the COVID-19 pandemic last year while following all safety protocols. The fruit of our hard work is the accolades the film is receiving at various international festivals. The credit goes to my team and I thank them for the success the film is receiving.”
