When Salman Khan plays a rowdy police officer in a film directed by Prabhu Deva, one can easily predict how the film and its trailer begins.
The promo of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai shows a version of Mumbai that is infested by drug lords and criminals. A senior cop (Govind Namdeo) says a special kind of a police officer is required to tackle this menace.
In comes Radhe (Khan). He starts bashing up the baddies and continues to do so till the end of the trailer. And as per the unwritten rules of such hero-oriented masala entertainers, the female lead, Disha Patani, who hardly anything to do, makes a fleeting appearance. But having said that, except Randeep Hooda, who looks promising as the villain, no other actor gets any screen time.
To put it simply, the trailer of Radhe is exactly what you would expect from a Khan film of this genre. The almost-three-minute footage is loaded with action sequences and heroic dialogue. Some stunts appear over-the-top even for a Khan movie.
While a couple of lines fall flat, the Eid Mubarak dialogue at the end saves the trailer.
As far as Khan is concerned, he seems to be putting less effort in fight sequences and dialogue delivery. He is saved by his costume, which is the same that he wore in Wanted (2009), directed by the same person.
Produced by Salman Khan Films, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai will be released in theatres and on ZeePlex, Zee5 and other DTH platforms on 13 May.
