Well-known cinematographer Johny Lal died on Thursday. Several reports state that the veteran had been suffering from COVID-19 complications. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
A well known name in the Hindi film industry, Lal was part of key projects like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001), Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), Partner (2007), Rhythm (2016) and, more recently, Veerey Ki Wedding (2018).
Actor R Madhavan eulogized the lensman on social media, writing that his gentleness and brilliance would be missed.

Actor Tushhar Kapoor, who faced the camera for the first time in Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, took to Instagram to pay his respects. "RIP Johnny sir! Thank you for making Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai look like the way it did, fresh even today! Thank you for making my rawness and imperfection, look natural and youthful, during the filming of my 1st film! (sic)," he wrote.
Director Satish Kaushik also mourned the loss of the veteran. He wrote, "Oh God !! Shocked to hear about demise of Johny Lal an ace cinematographer , great,simple human being (sic)."
