Composer Wajid Ali Khan's wife moves Bombay high court over property dispute with brother-in-law, Sajid Ali

The late composer-singer Wajid Ali's wife, Kamalrukh Khan, has moved the Bombay high court seeking an injunction against her brother-in-law Sajid Ali and mother-in-law with regards to the composer's will.

Khan has claimed that the composer had made his will in 2012 and named her and their children as the main beneficiaries. The composer died in June 2020 after contracting COVID-19. 

Reports state that in addition to the probate petition, which was filed by advocate Bahraiz Irani, Khan has also sought interim relief restraining the late composer's brother and mother from claiming third-party rights on the property. She also claimed that since her marriage with Wajid, the family did not accept her, and her children, as part of the family.

The son of famed tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, Wajid Ali Khan broke into the film industry along with his brother as a composer in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998). Close collaborators of Salman Khan, the duo composed music for several of the star's films such as Partner (2007), Hello (2008), God Tussi Great Ho (2008), Wanted (2009) and Dabangg (2010). 

The composer duo worked under the label Sajid-Wajid LLP for the most part of their career.
