Directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have launched a production house, D2R Indie, to support independent filmmakers.

The company is likely to support films and micro-series that can be made at home as well as provide mentorship to filmmakers. The duo has directed the popular series The Family Man (2019) as well as the films Go Goa Gone (2013) and Unpaused (2020).

The filmmakers to Twitter to announce the launch on Wednesday. "When we first started off, we had to do it all by ourselves. So we’ve been thinking… why not be there for other filmmakers like us Which brings us to — d2r Indie — our initiative to help upcoming, independent filmmakers make their films! (sic)" they tweeted.

The venture has received praise from Hindi film industry figures such as Ranvir Shorey and Manoj Bajpayee. 

Owing to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, all shoots have been suspended in the state of Maharashtra.

Both Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have begun working on their next digital series with Amazon Prime, featuring Shahid Kapoor. The filmmakers are also awaiting the release of the second season of The Family Man
