Akshaye Khanna and Raveena Tandon are set to star opposite each other for the first time in the upcoming drama series Legacy directed by Vijay Gutte. The artistes, who starred in several hits in the 1990s, will be playing rivals in Legacy, which is being shot in various countries.
Khanna and Tandon had previously starred in JP Dutta’s LOC: Kargil (2003), but never shared a scene together. The actor and Gutte reunite for their second project together after The Accidental Prime Minister (2019).
Speaking about his first web-series, Khanna stated, “It is refreshing to work on content that challenges our boundaries as an industry as a whole. Given the massive scale of the show, we are cognizant of the immense responsibility to deliver our best to create a content piece the audience looks forward to.”
For Tandon, this will be her second foray into the online world after the upcoming Netflix series Aranyak in which she plays a police officer in a Himalayan town looking for a missing tourist. The actress was eager to begin the journey on her second web-series.
She said, "Legacy presents an interesting tale of a power struggle with an entertaining amount of drama, which grasped my attention. It is a fine work of content articulated interestingly to resonate with a global audience.”
Gutte, who makes his digital debut with the project, said, “I'm extremely excited about Legacy for multiple reasons. It is an aspirational project mounted on a large scale reflecting upon the dark realities of the professional world. I am thrilled to be reuniting with Akshaye for this and exhilarated to have Raveena Tandon on board with us on this one. This talent powerhouse is set for an epic rivalry.”
Legacy is being produced by After Studios, AA Films and Sunny Bakshi. Neither the streaming platform nor the release date has been revealed.
