Following the phenomenal success of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019), many filmmakers have included rap songs to promotes their movies. You can now add Kookie V Gulati’s Abhishek Bachchan-starrer The Big Bull (2021) to the list.
Called ‘The Big Bull Title Track’, the song is more like the theme track of the movie. It describes Bachchan’s character Hemant Shah, modelled on the late stockbroker and scamster Harshad Mehta, and his journey in the world of stocks, which includes the story of his stupendous success and the obstacles he faced.
The song takes time to make an impact on the listener. It is probably more hard-hitting in the latter part when Wily Frenzy’s music goes to another level.
Well-known YouTuber CarryMinati [Ajey Nagar] makes his debut as a film singer and lyricist with this track. He has done a fair job behind the mic and succeeded in bringing the right amount of spunk needed for such a powerful track. His words appear more impressive in the ending portion when the phrase ‘The Big Bull’ arrives.
In terms of the video, the visuals of Mumbai of yesteryear, when it was called Bombay, look convincing. Bachchan appears more impressive in this track than he did in the trailer for the movie.
Produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, The Big Bull will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar from 8 April. Watch the song below and let us know if you would be keen to watch the film:
