Director Apoorva Lakhia makes his digital debut with Crackdown

Director Apoorva Lakhia has announced his entry into the digital world with Voot original web-series Crackdown. The espionage thriller stars Saqib Saleem, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Iqbal Khan, Waluscha De Sousa, Rajesh Tailang, and Ankur Bhatia.

Crackdown is high-octane, crime-thriller show that revolves around a covert operations wing that tries to uncover a larger conspiracy that threatens national security. During their covert operations, they get help from an unknown girl whose identity is a mystery to them.

The series will be premiered on Voot Select on 23 September. Their last original show Gone Game had received a lot of critical acclaim. The series also had Pilgaonkar in an important role. 

Director Apoorva Lakhia is known for making gangster films such as Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) and Haseena Parkar (2017). This is not the first time he has dabbled in the spy genre, his earlier film Mission Istaanbul (2008), starring Vivek Oberoi and Zayed Khan, was also an espionage thriller.
