Veteran actor Sanjay Dutt, who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital, has not stopped working after all. Dutt has resumed shooting for his upcoming film, Shamshera (2021). The actor was spotted at the Yash Raj Films studio in Mumbai on Monday evening.
According to a report in ETimes, an entertainment portal of The Times of India newspaper group, Dutt is shooting for two days before the next leg of his treatment, which is scheduled to begin later this week.
The 61-year-old was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer in August and expected to fly to the US for treatment. However, he is currently undergoing preliminary treatment in Mumbai. The actor has reportedly completed the first round of treatment.
Shamshera is an action-adventure film helmed by Karan Malhotra, best known for Agneepath (2012). The period film set in the 19th century is the story of a dacoit tribe fighting against the British. Ranbir Kapoor, who portrayed Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju (2018), plays a double role in the film while Dutt will be seen as the main antagonist.
Apart from Shamshera, Dutt will be seen in the Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 (2021). His first look from the film was revealed on his 61st birthday in July. He will also be seen in Bhuj: The Pride Of India (2020), which is slated to be released on Disney+ Hotstar.
