Four National award-winning filmmakers, Pradeep Sarkar, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Priyadarshan and Mahesh Manjrekar have joined hands for a series titled Forbidden Love, which will premiere on Zee5 on 9 September. The series, comprising of four films, will explore the themes of love, marriage and relationships.

Pradeep Sarkar's film, Arranged Marriage, is a modern-day take on a love story.  The film will expose the flaws in the age-old tradition of Indian matchmaking, where love is often sacrificed at the altar of superstition and family values. On the other hand, Manjrekar’s Diagnosis Of Love, which explores the relationship between a surgeon and his colleague, has a crime-thriller angle to it.

Pink (2016) director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's Rules Of The Game is about a couple in their thirties who want to spice up their relationship, while Priyadarshan's Anamika is a slice-of-life drama about a middle-aged housewife, who can no more connect to her husband.

The series will star Ali Fazal, Aahana Kumra, Patralekhaa, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Omkar Kapoor, Anindita Bose, Aditya Seal, Pooja Kumar, Harsh Chhaya, Raima Sen, Rannvijay Singh, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, and Manjrekar.

Forbidden Love will stream on Zee5 from 9 - 24 September.
