Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare trailer: Konkona Sensharma, Bhumi Pednekar strike out to live life on their own terms

Kajal aka Kitty (Bhumi Pednekar) joins her cousin Dolly (Konkana Sensharma) and her family in Noida to live and work. The two sisters are at different points in their lives – Kitty is just starting out while Dolly is stuck in a rut in her marriage. But both of them are seeking to actually live their lives instead of just passively letting things happen to them.

Alankrita Shrivastava’s next after Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017) features two strong female protagonists. Dolly, a mother of two young boys, doesn’t feel satisfied with her husband and pursues a relationship with a younger pizza delivery boy (Amol Parashar) instead.

Meanwhile, Kitty works at a call centre, providing companionship and phone sex to lonely men. She later meets the seemingly perfect Pradeep (Vikrant Massey) and falls into a relationship with him.

Both think they have discovered love again and feel a sense of freedom through it, but will it last? The film, written by Shrivastava, will likely not be as straightforward as it seems.

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival last year and makes its way to Netflix on 18 September.
