The second season of Hostages sees ex-cop Prithvi Singh (Ronit Roy) being forced to kidnap Delhi chief minister Handa (Dalip Tahil) and hold him captive in a dilapidated mansion to fulfill his demand, which is not revealed in the trailer. The mansion is soon surrounded by a team of cops and commandos, making it almost impossible for Prithvi to escape.
Hostages 2 clearly appears to be made at a much larger scale. While the first season had a lot of drama, it seems the second season will focus more on action. The situation of holding a chief minister hostage is interesting. Let’s hope the same is reflected in the entire second season.
Viewers will recall that the first season had seen Prithvi and his team holding Tisca Chopra and Parvin Dabas's family hostage. In return, he had demanded that Chopra, who plays a surgeon in the show, kill Handa during a surgery. After a lot of twists and turns, it is revealed that Prithvi was trying to save the life of his ailing wife. Handa is shown losing his life during the surgery. But it is revealed in the end that he survives.
Ronit Roy once again succeeds in appearing determined. We only catch a glimpse of the other actors in the trailer. Divya Dutta, Dino Morea and Shibani Dandekar are the new additions to the cast in season two. The trailer doesn’t show the characters of Chopra and Dabas.
Hostages 2 will start streaming from 9 September on the OTT platform of Disney+Hotstar.
