Janhvi Kapoor may make her Telugu debut opposite Jr NTR

If the industry grapevine is to be believed, Janhvi Kapoor, seen recently in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, is likely to make her Telugu debut opposite actor Jr NTR in filmmaker Trivikram’s upcoming project which is yet to be titled.

A report on the website Cinema Express said Trivikram is keen to rope in Janhvi, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and the late Sridevi, as the leading lady for the film.

Trivikram and Jr NTR are set to work together for the second time after the Telugu action drama Aravinda Sametha (2018).

"Trivikram wants to have a fresh on-screen pairing for Jr NTR and is contemplating initiating a dialogue with Janhvi Kapoor," a source close to the director was quoted as saying. "Currently, he is giving final touches to the script and if everything works out, he will take things forward."

It’s worth mentioning here that Janhvi Kapoor has previously expressed her interest in working in Telugu cinema. She was even considered for Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Fighter with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR is busy with SS Rajamouli’s Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (2021), which also stars Ram Charan. His project with Trivikram will only go on the floors after he completes shooting for Rajamouli's RRR.

In RRR, it is rumoured that Jr NTR and Ram Charan play brothers in the modern-day portion and will be seen as Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju in the period portion which will be the flashback episode. While Jr NTR will be seen as Bheem, Ram Charan will play Sitarama Raju.

The project will also mark Hindi star Ajay Devgn's South debut. Shriya Saran, his co-star in Drishyam (2015), has been signed on opposite Devgn. The film will also feature Alia Bhatt and Samuthirakani in crucial roles. Bhatt will be paired with Ram Charan while a foreign actress has been paired with Jr NTR.
