Kaushik Ganguly’s upcoming film Lokkhi Chhele, featuring his son Ujaan Ganguly as the protagonist, will have its world premiere at the International Competition section at the Heartland International Film Festival. Ujaan made his debut with Pavel’s Rosogolla (2018).

The 29th edition of the American festival will be held virtually, along with drive-in screenings in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 8 - 18 October. A virtual question and session on the film will take place on 14 October.

According to a statement released by the PR team, "Lokkhi Chhele tells a story of unconditional love and compassion in a dark hour of disenchantment and cynicism, where religion is the impetus for civil war when crippling superstition and stubborn faith has blinded an independent nation. In the end, the only religion that stands strong and undefeated is humanity.”

In the poster of the film, Ujaan can be seen holding a baby with six limbs with love and care. The character's appearance suggests that the protagonist comes from a humble background and yet, perhaps, raises a child simply for the sake of humanity and compassion.

Both Lokkhi Chhele and Rosogolla were produced by Windows Production House.
