Vicky Donor actor Bhupesh Kumar Pandya dies of cancer

Veteran actor Bhupesh Kumar Pandya, who was undergoing treatment for stage IV lung cancer, died yesterday.

Pandya, who appeared in some important films like Vicky Donor (2012) and Parmanu (2018), is survived by his wife, Chhaya Pandya, and their two children.

The National School of Drama (NSD) took to Twitter to share the news of the actor's death and pays its respects.

"The news of the sudden death of Bhupesh Kumar Pandya (alumnus NSD 2001 batch) is extremely sad," the institute announced in Hindi. "The NSD family pays heartfelt tribute. God bless the departed soul."

 Actors Manoj Bajpayee and Rajesh Tailang and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter.

Only a week ago, several NSD alumni, including Bajpayee and Tailang, had tweeted a link to a crowdfunding page for the actor, who was in need of financial help to pay for his treatment. His wife had said the family had exhausted most of its savings on his treatment.
