Sushant Singh Rajput case: Sessions court extends judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, brother till 6 October

The actress and Showik Chakraborty have filed a bail application in the Bombay High Court, which will take it up on Wednesday.

A Mumbai sessions court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty till 6 October. The siblings have filed a bail application in the Bombay high court, which will take up the matter tomorrow.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested the siblings on September 9 on drug charges linked to the investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The 28-year-old actress, who dated Rajput in the months prior to his death on June 14, has been accused of organizing drugs for him. Besides Rhea and Showik, 13 others have been arrested by the NCB.

Rhea, who is currently housed at the Byculla Jail in Mumbai, has denied the allegations levelled against her by the agency.

Meanwhile, the NCB has also summoned talent agency executive Jaya Saha and actress Deepika Padukone's manager, Karishma Prakash.

These summonses have been issued in connection with the first case the NCB registered based on the retrieved WhatsApp messages from Rhea's mobile phone that allegedly revealed conversations about buying drugs for Rajput.
